VARIABLE STARS
AAVSO, founded in 1911,
the American Association of Variable Star Observers located in
Cambridge, MA is the largest organization of variable star
observers worldwide, with members and more than 550 observers in
over 40 countries.
AFOEV,
established in 1921, the Association Francaise des Observateurs
d'Etoiles Variables is headquartered at the Strasbourg
Observatory and led by Michel Verdenet; the former president Emile Schweitzer
remaining as the honorary president of the association.
